Introducing Kinesis Pay

KPay Launch.png
We are extremely pleased to announce the launch of Kinesis Pay, a new payment feature giving online merchants globally the opportunity to accept payments in gold and silver.

What is Kinesis Pay?

Kinesis Pay is a new payment plug-in that gives businesses access to a payment rail built for accepting Kinesis gold (KAU) and silver (KAG).

When integrated with a merchant’s online store, this new, intuitive feature allows merchants everywhere to earn in gold and silver-based digital currencies, while broadening the range of payment options for their businesses. At the same time, Kinesis Pay allows customers to effortlessly make instant purchases with precious metals outside of the traditional fiat banking system.

How does it work for businesses?

Available for Individual and Business account holders, Kinesis Pay can be easily integrated with both small, independent businesses and multinational enterprises. Kinesis users can easily create a merchant profile from the ‘merchant’ tab of their personal or business account, in a matter of minutes and with no additional cost.

Once users have set up a merchant profile, they simply need to download and install the Kinesis Pay plug-in onto their website and they can start accepting payments in gold and silver the very same day.

Upon installation, business owners have access to the all-new merchant dashboard, equipping them with all the tools to track, analyse and manage their payments received in Kinesis gold (KAU) and silver (KAG).

As businesses receive income in gold and silver, Kinesis Pay establishes an avenue for the ongoing diversification of company holdings into precious metals. Additionally, as members of the Kinesis system, the moment businesses receive their first payment in gold or silver, they become eligible to receive a passive yield on their precious metal holdings – the Holder’s yield.

Considering users are able to refer businesses to Kinesis, the Kinesis Pay feature presents another exciting opportunity. Upon referring a merchant, Kinesis users would access the Referrer’s yielda 7.5% share of every fee on every single payment that the business makes.

How does it work for customers?

When a customer reaches the checkout at a participating online merchant, Kinesis Pay will be presented as an option alongside traditional payment methods. From here, existing Kinesis users can simply scan a unique QR code and securely pay in gold and silver via Kinesis. With no need to enter any card details or fiat currency conversion, customers can make an instant, direct payment in gold and silver to complete their purchase.

Those customers who are not currently Kinesis users will be exposed to the possibility of gold and silver payments and encouraged to sign up – with Kinesis Pay serving as a potential onboarding mechanism.

Operate your business in gold and silver

Following on from the recent launch of the multi-send feature – enabling businesses to simultaneously pay up to 50 payees with gold and silver – the new Kinesis Pay feature broadens the business application of the Kinesis Monetary System.

This time tapping into the online payments and e-commerce space, Kinesis provides robust technology for businesses to accept gold and silver, with the same ease and efficiency as any other currency.

As Kinesis continues to expand its offering for business, it will cement its position as the industry leader in facilitating business operations in physical precious metals.

Future Kinesis Pay Buildout Idea: It would be nice to see the possibility of a business paid via fiat and have the fiat sent to the businesses Kinesis account. The business could then choose to have fiat stay as is, instantly converted to precious metal upon customer purchase, or have the fiat pooled then converted to AU/AG once a certain threshold of fiat is met in the business account (such as the amount of fiat needed to mint into the Kinesis monetary system)

Conversion is possible via the api. For cryptoniq we added auto conversions of currencies above a specified threshold. But right now fiat can only be sent from an account matching the same name. Would be nice for corporate accounts to be able to receive wires from customers.

I have a question. Maybe someone knows the answer?
How long did it take to create KinesisPay in the project?
I'm asking because it only took a minute to add this to KMS (one click enter).
The community, if it does not see what, where and how is happening, using emotions sometimes undermines the existence of the project and begins to doubt. If everyone asks themselves this question and answers it, they should find peace. He will add knowledge to it and he will have a better life.
I wish that for everyone.

Saha, I am unsure how to take advantage of this Kinesis Pay program. The instructions are too brief. Where do we get the bar code or Qcode to activate the payment? How and who translates the amount of KAU or KAG used to pay the bill less the 3%? How does the cost show up in our Exchange? If we are asked by the vendor how this works for them, is there a page that we can give them to study to bring them on board? Please help with many more details how this works. I would like to use it but don't know what to do. Thank you. Ted Barben

Hi Ted,
I think you may be thinking of two different programs here.

There is a Cashback (or more accurately gold/silver-back) program in the US, which allows you to swap KAU or KAG for a USD voucher for a specific store. Your Kinesis account then gets rebated with 3% of the KAU or KAG that you swapped and you spend the USD voucher in the relevant store.
You can read more about that here:

Kinesis Pay is a program for merchants who want to accept KAU or KAG as a payment currency.
Kinesis Pay works with WooCommerce, a popular merchant app for those selling online.
The merchant signs up to get the Kinesis Pay SDK to integrate into their WooCommerce implementation.
If a customer chooses to pay in KAU/KAG, the merchant's fiat price is supplied to the Kinesis Pay software, which converts it into KAU/KAG and presents a QR code. The customer can then scan the QR code with the mobile app and confirm payment. The merchant's Kinesis account is credited with the KAU/KAG payment.
Jeff has taken a video of a demo that he setup here:
