Yes, Holder yield.
I've calculated 5.11% so I'm not sure how they got that figure..

My calculation is: KAU Yield * 12 / KAU eligible on last day of month

Calculate for both March and April and then calculate average.

I'd be interested to know APY for others using this calculation.

A couple of points worth factoring in
  • Holder yield is calculated based on daily balances rather than an end of monthly balance
  • APY takes into account the compounding effect of yields received on a monthly basis
With respect to your first point, on the holders yield page you can click on a downward arrow and it reads Total eligible for Holder's Yield and this amount matches what you're holding, with about a days lag.

So providing I don't add to my holdings on the last day, why isn't what I'm holding on the last day of the month used for the calculation?

And if it's not used, what amount is?

You add up the holdings for each day of the month, then divide by the sum of the holding of all users on each day of the month (i.e. the Circulation). This gives you your eligibility for Holders Yield. Multiply this with the Holders Yield Pool and you get your yield payment.

So what it boils down to is your average holdings during the month is used in the calculation. If it was just the holdings at month end that counts, then you could just hold KAU on the last day of the month and get just as much yield as somebody who holds during the entire month. That wouldn't be fair.

Thanks but under Total eligible for Holder's Yield, the amount doesn't show the average, it shows my current holdings.

If what you say is correct, what is the figure under Total eligible for Holder's Yield referring to?

Shouldn't that reflect the average you mention?

It shows you the eligible for the bar that is currently selected.

When you open the page using that little triangle, the default selection is the most recent bar.

If you click on a different bar in the chart, your Total eligible will be shown for the date that bar corresponds to.

I think that page is a bit misleading though, it looks like a running-total to me.

Thanks for clearing that up, it's much fairer calculating an average.
