BRICS Summit Kazan May 2024

I thought Andy was getting confused when he mentioned an important BRICS summit next month in Kazan. But he has now repeated it twice, with specific dates, which are not the same as the main Oct summit. I cannot find any information about this summit on the internet and it is not in the BRICS calendar. Is it being kept off the radar for some reason? If so, that would indicate it is very important. Can Andy elaborate on it?

Andy may mean the rumoured bilateral-only meeting between Xi-Putin in Beijing, possibly in late May that Lavrov may have been finalising in Beijing yesterday, when Xi said he had a call with Putin in February

SCO has its next summit under Kazakhstan's Presidency in Astana in July, with BRICS in Kazan, October 22-24. Putin would likely attend both.

Russia has planned over 250 meetings for the various working parties in BRICS in 2024.

Frankly this is only what we're told.

Andy gives the dates in mid May for a BRICS summit in Kazan (Russia). The BRICS games are also taking place there in June, with 74 countries competing.

South Africa's general election is on 29th May, 10 days after the end of the May summit. A gold revaluation would most likely give an electoral boost to the ANC against the DA, the main opposition, which has a policy to pull SA out of BRICS. Just saying.

Andrew, are you really expecting anything concrete to come of this month's meeting, leaked or otherwise? The October leaders' summit looks like the one we should be focusing on.

While Andy may not visit the forum much, this is a recognised route for questions for LFTV.

Well, the next time he visits, he can see my line of logic regarding the Oct leaders' summit, below. I think it is pretty irrefutable on the prospects for an official (market-moving) announcement in Oct. Leaks always seem to be ignored. Stupidly, buyers want evidence that gold has been revalued before they buy.

Maybe there can be more than one interesting meeting. Maybe the meetings are interesting for different reasons. Who knows.
I'm sure there are. But there will probably only be one tipping-point summit that produces visible results.
